Somewhere in the Stars

Somewhere in the Stars is a series of digital illustrations paired with short stories, each introducing a figure from beyond our world. These characters exist outside the familiar — dreamers, watchers, wanderers — imagined from a place of curiosity and wonder. With a personal and whimsical touch, each piece invites you into distant realms where magic lingers and the unknown feels strangely close.

Somewhere in the Stars - Sol the Dreamer

At the edge of the dream world lay Sol, drifting between realms. Her thoughts swirled like constellations, vast & infinite, as she pondered the paths of her life. Each memory, each decision, felt like a star burning in the void, some dim, some brilliant. She dreamt about a muse, whispering truths she could not yet grasp. Above her, an unseen presence observed. Sol felt its gaze, heavy & unyielding, yet strangely comforting. She wondered what it wanted, why it lingered in her dreams. Was it a guardian, or something more mysterious? She didn’t reach out, instead, she floated deeper, letting her dream unfold. Still the eye watched, patient and distant, as she drifted further into the unknown.

Somewhere in the Stars - Valen the Muse

At the edge of dreams, Valen stood, cloaked in beauty and darkness. His form shifted, never fully seen, as he wandered through the realms unknown. He appeared only in the quiet moments, where thoughts blurred and reality softened. His presence felt rather than seen, like a fleeting moment on the edge of consciousness. Valen never strayed long, slipping through the mist like a forgotten whisper. He was the muse who led without revealing where. And in his wake, dreams followed.

Somewhere in the Stars - Ren the Shadower

Ren drifted through the spaces between the stars, his form a swirl of bright, almost hypnotic colours. But his face was void of features - no eyes, no mouth, just a blank, glowing mask that reflected the stars around him. He didn’t need a face to lure his prey. His radiant exterior was enough, a beacon in the dark, calling out to the curious. Ren hunted dreams, desires and fears, the essence of those who wandered too close. His victims simply vanished. Their essence absorbed into the cosmic silence, leaving nothing behind. In the boundless void, Ren’s colourful form moved on, searching for the next flicker of vulnerability.

Somewhere in the Stars - Orion the Observer

In the furthest corner of cosmos, Orion watched in silence. The vast universe stretched endlessly before him, stars and worlds moving through time like a slow, eternal dance. He observed all without interference, the weight of countless moments pushing against him. Silence enveloped him, as if the universe itself held it’s breath, and for the first time, a thought crossed his mind - Have I seen enough? He had witnessed joy, destruction, life and death, always remaining distant. But now, something stirred deep, an unfamiliar pull. The universe shifted and for the first time, Orion moved, breaking the stillness. As he gazed towards a distant star, a choice began to form — one that could reshape the cosmos forever.

Somewhere in the Stars - Noctis the Catalyst

Deep in the unreachable corner of space, Noctis lurked, his power vast & ancient. Once a creator, now he consumed the universe’s dying breaths - collapsing stars, fading worlds and the last flickers of life. Those who sought him, pleading for mercy or power, were devoured, leaving behind hollow husk until only shadows remained. Noctis roamed the dark, his presence a silent ruin. Each time he took, the cosmos grew quiter & dimmer but he felt no remorse. His only thought as he consumed yet another fading world: Is there anything or anyone left that can stop me?

Somewhere in the Stars - The Gathering

At the edge of Dreamland, where the sky frayed into mist, the Gathering began. They came — not walking, but soaring — silent shapes spun from memory and moonlight. Some were fierce, others frail, but none belonged to the living. They circled and wove through the drifting clouds, drawn together by something older than words. No one knew who called them, or why they came. Perhaps it was longing. Perhaps it was the last place they could still remember. For a brief moment, their whispers stitched the sky with forgotten songs. Then, one by one, they faded, leaving the air trembling, as if Dreamland itself had exhaled.
